The Doctor Of Ministry program (DMin) offers an opportunity to reflect on experience gained in church leadership roles. The program focuses especially on community development, finding ways to connect church institutions and community needs.
The Master Of Divinity (MDiv) is our basic professional degree. If you want to serve the church as a pastor or in a related professional role, this is the right program. LTS is supported by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada (ELCIC).
Our Non-Degree program is for those who have already graduated from an MDiv, MTS, or Diaconal Certificate program (or their equivalents), and want to audit an occasional LTS course. Typically, Continuing Education students access funding from their judicatory bodies, for courses taken.
For over 100 years, LTS has formed pastors, diaconal ministers, and church leaders serving Lutheran communities across Canada and around the world.
Students live where they are, study online, and come together for short intensives across Western Canada. LTS serves learners from Thunder Bay to Tofino, Whitehorse to White Rock, and beyond. You do not need to relocate to study with us.
Our faculty contribute to the global theological conversation through ecumenical partnerships and international collaboration while remaining deeply committed to supporting Lutheran congregations and ministries.
Our learning model blends online courses with short in-person intensives, allowing students to pursue theological education while remaining rooted in their home communities.
LTS offers masters and doctoral level programs in Christian theology, ministry, diaconal studies, and advanced degrees through the Saskatoon Theological Union. We also equip local and lay leaders through ready to use training resources.
Lutheran Theological Seminary, a ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada, equips people for Christ‐centered leadership and witness to participate in God’s mission in the world.
