About Us

  • The STU Libraries' print collection consists of over 100,000 monographs and approximately 80 current Journal subscriptions.

    Our collections include resources on: preaching and pastoral care, theology, church history, biblical studies, social justice, and denomination specific materials. We are committed to developing Indigenous collections and resources.

Digital Theological Library

  • STU and Horizon College students have access to the Digital Theological Library database, a co-owned digital library offering a wide range of resources on theological, biblical, and religious topics. Current students receive access when they enroll.

Non-student patrons can access digital resources through the Open Access DTL. The OADTL is a curated collection of open access resources broadly related to religious studies and is available to all patrons if they have a computer, tablet, or phone with internet access. The OADTL combines over half a million digital books and over thirty million articles into a single searchable database that is free for anyone to use.

If you would like to access the DTL, please enroll in a class offered at the College of Emmanuel & St. Chad, Lutheran Theological Seminary, Horizon College & Seminary, or St. Andrew’s College.

Borrowing, Loan Periods & Fines

  • Most collection materials may be borrowed for three weeks. Five renewals are available unless another user has requested the item. We do not charge late fines.
  • An extended loan may be available on request. You may borrow up to 100 books. Borrowed materials may be returned to either the STU Library or the Horizon College & Seminary Library, regardless of which library items were borrowed from. All materials are subject to recall. All patrons and students at Horizon College & Seminary, the Lutheran Theological Seminary, College of Emmanuel & St. Chad, and St. Andrew's College have access to materials at both library locations. You can request to pick up materials at either of the Iocations. Book sale items are available at both locations.

Horizon College & Seminary Library features resources with a strong evangelical and Pentecostal focus. Horizon Library is also home to a significant donation from the Bethany College library collection.
